A pile of laundry, dirty and soiled
was thrown in the washer, out of the way.
Meetings and errands were all on the list
of things I must do by the end of the day.
Tired and weary and hectic I felt
thinking of clothes sitting still wet.
But to my surprise as I entered our home,
laundry was resting on top of our bed.
The socks were all paired, shirts sorted too,
and on the long rod in laundry room found
and brought forth a smile to worn harried face,
the long denim sleeves hugging my dress.
